September, 2008 Attention StarBand Customers: Changes coming to UseNet/Netnews The Usenet service is being migrated from the Atlanta NNTP service and its datacenter to a new location in Virginia. This change means all new equipment, increased retention, increased redundancy, and improved backbone connectivity. This move will mean the article numbers for each newsgroup will be different. If you have any headers stored in your newsreader, you will have to reload all headers in your subscribed newsgroups. If you do not reload headers you will receive 'article not found' errors as well as the appearance that no new content is being posted. Also, all downloaded headers will be marked as unread, even if you have read those articles previously. This change will take effect on or around 10-01-08. Thank you The Starband Support Team
